ST. LOUIS —Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University Physicians are hosting Brain Works, a new and engaging event that merges science and theater to educate the community on the functions of the human brain.

What: Brain Works is a compelling and emotional story of the mind regarding how it makes us human. Two of the nation’s top neurosurgeon-scientists, Albert Kim, MD, PhD, and Eric Leuthardt, MD, will take the audience inside the minds of a couple as they experience life’s milestones such as falling in love, starting a family and fearing a threatening diagnosis. They will help narrate the story using video and animations to show what’s going on in the couple’s brains.

Brain Works combines education and entertainment to illustrate how these milestone moments people experience affect the human brain. It highlights innovative research and patient care taking place in St. Louis at Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
