Brain Tumor Patients, Families to Meet in St. Louis

September 25, 2006, ST. LOUIS – Brain tumor patients, survivors and their families will join a host of experts in St. Louis on Friday, October 13 and Saturday, October 14, 2006 to learn about advancements in treatment and care management for brain tumors.

The "Sharing Hope" patient meeting will be held at the Hilton St. Louis Airport Hotel. Hosted by the American Brain Tumor Association, the meeting will feature lectures and workshops conducted by medical experts in St. Louis, including sessions on tumor removal and radiation therapy by physicians in neurosurgery and radiation oncology from Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine.

Approximately 200,000 brain tumor cases are diagnosed each year, according to the American Brain Tumor Association. Individuals greatly affected are children under the age of 15 and older adults.
