Join the Siteman Cancer Center at the 2007 Komen-St. Louis Race for the Cure
April 5, 2007, ST. LOUIS - Join the Siteman Cancer Center team at the ninth annual Komen St. Louis Race for the Cure. The Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine is a platinum sponsor of the June 16 Race in downtown St. Louis.
The 2006 Race was the nation''s largest with over 64,000 participants raising $2.4 million for breast cancer research, education and outreach. The Siteman Cancer Center is the largest beneficiary of local dollars and the 2006 Siteman team featured 3,038 participants with over $66,000 donated by Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine employees.
Blues goaltender Manny Legace and his wife Gi are honorary chairs of the 2007 Race. Both Manny and Gi''s mothers are breast cancer survivors and will lead the Survivor''s March at the Race.
The registration fee is $20. Team members will receive a special Siteman team T-shirt, the Komen Race T-shirt and be entered in a raffle for a chance to win prizes including Cardinals tickets, VIP tickets to the Fox Theater and $500 in cash.
