We're the premier facility for electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), administering 3,000 treatments a year.

We’re also the only facility in the area to offer transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to treat refractory mood disorders, an alternative to ECT with the potential for fewer side effects.

And our clinical studies have given us rare insights into how outside contributors affect many mental states, such as the impact of major depression on patients with diabetes and heart disease, as well as studies that are helping define the symptoms and treatment course for persons surviving major disasters.
Our programs include Inpatient Adult Services, Psychiatric Intensive Care Services, and a Geriatric Unit comprised of two separate programs, one specifically designed to meet the complex needs of seniors with disorders that impair cognitive functioning. We also provide treatment for eating disorders with an emphasis on adult and adolescent obesity through a partnership with Washington University's Center for Human Nutrition.
