One of the city's major attractions, Forest Park, is adjacent to the Washington University Medical Center, in the Central West End neighborhood. Originally the site of the 1904 World's Fair, Forest Park is a 1,400-acre expanse of greenery and recreation facilities and has paths for running and cycling, tennis courts, an ice-skating rink, athletic fields, and three golf courses. Forest Park is also the site for the St. Louis Zoo, the second largest zoo in the country, the St. Louis Science Center, the Muny, the nation's oldest and largest outdoor theater, as well as the St. Louis Art Museum and Missouri History Museum.
