Barnes-Jewish Hospital announces the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors. Joining the board are Susan K. Goldberg and Thomas Hillman.
Goldberg began her career as a first grade teacher. She developed her teaching experience into a marketing career focused on children and families. Highlights of her career include positions at Ralston Purina (now known as Nestlé Purina), the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games and Holiday Inn Worldwide.
She has committed the last 15 years to being a community volunteer, serving on a variety of non-profit boards focused on the education and wellness of the St. Louis community. She has also committed her time to a number of other causes throughout the St. Louis region.
Hillman has been involved with private business enterprises over the course of his career, owning more than 50 companies in a variety of industries. He has been an active partner and catalyst in each investment opportunity, particularly within the FTL Capital portfolio set, where he serves as managing principal. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of Automation Service and as executive chairman of Pulse Therapeutics.
Hillman is also general partner of Lewis & Clark Ventures, a venture capital equity growth fund headquartered in St. Louis and focused on high potential Series A & B round investment opportunities in the Midwest region. He serves on the Board of Trustees at Washington University in St. Louis and on the YPO Gold International Board.
"I am pleased to welcome Susan and Tom to our Board of Directors,” says Robert Cannon, president of Barnes-Jewish Hospital and group president of BJC HealthCare. “Their community involvement and unique business experiences complement our mission of taking exceptional care of people, and working to improve the health and quality of life of our patients and our community.”
