Puja Kachroo, MD replaces Dr. Marc Moon as the Surgical Director of the Center for Diseases of the Thoracic Aorta at the Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Heart & Vascular Center. Dr. Marc Moon had many notable contributions to our institution, faulty and advanced level of patient care during his tenure. We wish him our best in his new role at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Puja Kachroo has unanimously been named the new Surgical Director of the Center for Diseases of the Thoracic Aorta. She joined the cardiothoracic surgery faculty at Washington University School of Medicine six years ago and is already the Co-Director of the Transcatheter Valve Therapies program. Specializing in aortic diseases, Dr. Kachroo’s clinical interests include complex aortic surgery (including aortic root, arch, descending and thoracoabdominal), multivalvular heart disease, and multi-arterial coronary revascularization.
Dr. Kachroo attended Medical School at Ross University and completed a general surgery residency at Rutgers University, a funded research fellowship at UCLA, and finalized fellowship in Thoracic Surgery at Washington University.
