ST. LOUIS - Doximity, the largest professional network for physicians, named the residency program at Washington University, Barnes-Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital to their list the top ten residency programs in the nation. The Washington University, Barnes-Jewish and St. Louis Children’s consortium ranked No. 7 among national training institutions most recognized for the quality of residency programs across multiple specialties.
“Our residency programs provide our physicians the opportunity to develop the knowledge and clinical skills to become outstanding physicians," says John Lynch, MD, Barnes-Jewish Hospital chief medical officer. "Our 800 resident physicians not only help make us national leaders in medicine, but they benefit from nationally recognized educators, state of the art facilities and a diverse patient population."
The new rankings launched in time to assist fourth year medical school students as they begin to create their rank order list of programs where they wish to train.
"We have designed our residency programs to ensure we produce highly trained physicians, ready to advance the science of health care among many disciplines," said Rebecca McAlister, MD, associate dean for graduate medical education, Washington University School of Medicine. "We're proud to receive recognition for our dedicated efforts.”
