ST. LOUIS – The National Research Corporation has publicly recognized Barnes-Jewish Hospital as one of the 2012/2013 Consumer Choice Award winners. The award identifies hospitals whose healthcare consumers have recognized them for having the highest quality and image in over 300 markets throughout the United States, and places Barnes-Jewish Hospital as the highest ranked hospital in the St. Louis area for the 17th consecutive year.

This study surveys more than 250,000 households representing more than 450,000 consumers in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia. From the households surveyed, 3,200 hospitals named by consumers are analyzed and ranked based on their Core Based Statistical Areas (CBSAs) as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau, with the winning facilities being ranked the highest. All 2012/2013 Consumer Choice Award Winners were listed in the Oct. 22 issue of Modern Healthcare.
