ST. LOUIS – Barnes-Jewish Hospital and its physician partners at Washington University School of Medicine have been named on Becker’s Hospital Review 2015 list of “100 Great Hospitals in America.” The list is a compilation of the top health care facilities in the country. Barnes-Jewish is the only hospital in Missouri to receive the honor.
The Becker’s Hospital Review editorial team conducted its own research and looked at several factors, including reputable hospital ranking sources, such as U.S. News & World Report, Healthgrades. In addition, the team asked themselves questions like “Would you take a loved one here?”
“There are countless health care options for patients across the country,” says John Lynch, MD, vice president and chief medical officer of Barnes-Jewish Hospital. “Patients from the local region, the Midwest and beyond choose Barnes-Jewish for high quality and compassionate patient care by our Washington University physicians, Barnes-Jewish nurses and each member of our team. It is an honor to be recognized by such a highly-regarded organization.”
Each organization on the list is known for high-quality care, medical and scientific breakthroughs and doing what is right for patients in the community. Barnes-Jewish and the Washington University School of Medicine are cited in the ranking for leading premier programs and initiatives, including the Siteman Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Missouri.
