The Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital has expanded its treatment programs with the addition of radiation therapy. Washington University radiation oncologists now provide care at Siteman’s west county facility, joining Washington University medical oncologists and surgeons who treat cancer patients on the hospital campus.
“We offer radiation oncologists who specialize in various types of cancer,” says Imran Zoberi, MD, medical director of radiation oncology for the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital. “That means patients receive the best treatment regimen for their specific disease.” Radiation therapy is delivered by a recently installed linear accelerator capable of providing image-guided treatment. A new CT scanner is used for treatment planning.
Siteman’s west county facility also has expanded its support programs. A weekly support group, caregiver group and movement class are available through a partnership with The Wellness Community of Greater St. Louis. Additional education and art programs will be held throughout the year. Learn more about Siteman's cancer support programs in west county.
