Electronic Record System
Pharmacy
Patient safety and care are enhanced with a new platform for electronic medical records called COMPASS which combines MD/provider order entry, clinical documentation and the pharmacy system. Entering orders electronically can eliminate medical mistakes that result from unclear handwriting or verbal instructions that were misunderstood. Decreasing documentation time means care givers can spend more time with patients.
Magnetic Catheter
Heart
Remote Magnetic Navigation is an emerging technology in interventional cardiology that can open arteries to restore blood flow to the heart. Catheter tubes with magnetic tips can be steered within the patient using magnetic fields without the need for manual placement. Early results indicate the procedure is more effective, has shorter procedure times, low likelihood of perforation and other complications than other manual or robotic procedures.
RFID Tracking
Operating Room
Radianse is an electronic tracking system that uses radio frequency identification (RFID) to locate equipment and display its location online on a map of the hospital or in a list. Frequently used equipment in the operating rooms is tagged with transmitters that send signals to receivers placed throughout the perioperative environment, letting hospital workers spend less time looking for equipment and more time focused on patients.
