Every minute matters when diagnosing and treating a stroke, but not every patient has immediate access to a stroke center. Thanks to a new telemedicine robot at Parkland Health Center in Farmington, Missouri, Washington University stroke specialists can ""visit"" the bedside of patients suspected to be suffering from stroke. Physicians at the Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Stroke Center can interact with the patient to assess symptoms, and collaborate in real time with Parkland physicians to diagnose the patient and plan treatment.
